Every week in Dojo consists of great food, coffee, people, conversations and a whole lot of work.
While people come and go, the above remains constant. And because it’s a transient environment for many, it’s worth putting in the effort to network, and get involved in the community, so you get to know the community.
The schedule in Dojo is easier to predict than the jungle outside, so below you will find a brief run through of what goes on here in a typical week.
As Dojo is all about community, you will find events catering to all throughout the week. Typical events running every weekday are broken into four categories;
- Inspiration
- Knowledge
- Networking
- Cogiving
Events are delivered in four forms;
- Skill share (up to 50 participants)
- Workshop (up to 20 participants)
- Social event
- Think Tank (up to 20 participants)
Events usually kick off at 5 pm with the larger ones taking place in the grand hall, and the smaller ones in the large meeting room.
The objective of all events is to inspire, educate, and give back—but never sell. If you are interested in putting on your own event or have any suggestions, you can email events@dojobali.org for more information, and the team will be delighted to help you see this through.

On top of everyday events, there are many fixed events that run throughout each month. Below, you will find a list of these, and when they run. Monday through Friday…
Monday
Movie Night
Every Monday, the popcorn gets popped, bean bags come out, and the projector descends for a movie screening. Currently, Game of Thrones is being screened because apparently nobody gives a fuck about movies when GOT is on. Hopefully, we can get back to the classics soon and watch The Karate Kid trilogy.
Speed Dating (Networking)
On the last Monday of every month, all the newbies without friends excitedly gather by the pool, pretend they give a fuck about what each other does, and try their best to land themselves a hot date. Just kidding. It’s a really fun event, and what better way to get to know your co-workers than by having a quick chat in the Dojo tropics?
Tuesday
It’s not Monday, and that’s good enough for me. But if you’re a new member, you can look forward to the new members breakfast where the staff will terrify you with an induction to Dojo, and the jungle that is Bali. This is an awesome opportunity to meet new members and get off to a great start.
Wednesday
Mastermind
The Dojo mastermind sessions take place on the 2nd and 4th week of the month. During this event, six people share with the group what it is they do, what they are trying to accomplish, and any obstacles or challenges they would like help overcoming. The group then has five minutes to weigh in with their expertise and suggestions to help the individuals find the best solution.
Toastmasters
There is no safer and more supportive environment to tackle those nerves if you want to become a better communicator and public speaker. Toastmasters Dojo takes place on the 1st and 3rd week of the month.
Football
Every Wednesday evening, Haren organizes an indoor game of football, fusbal, or soccer (for y’all American folk!) in the evening. It’s fun and violent. For more information, ask Haren. Seriously, the more you annoy this man the better. You’ll know him soon enough!
Thursday
Members lunch
Join our member’s lunch every Thursday for another great opportunity to get to know your co- workers over some delicious food in a relaxed environment overlooking the rice fields.
Friday
Beach & Beers
The weekend is here. At 5.30 pm, a mini stampede of members descends upon Echo beach to shoot the shit over beers while watching the sunset. Whatever happens after that, happens. But the night is still young.
Dojo BBQ
The biggest event on the monthly calendar is the Dojo BBQ which takes place on the first Friday of every month. A night you don’t want to miss, no expense is spared by Michael as he goes all out to put on an epic night for the members. Spaces are limited, and tickets sell out fast so be sure to get yours to avoid missing out.
