Gabrielle started Hello Monday Co in 2015, after graduating from the University of Calgary with a degree in Commerce & Marketing. She moved to Bali for the next 3 years, where she began working as a Virtual Assistant with small business owners, creative entrepreneurs and digital agencies.
Her role quickly evolved as she realised that online entrepreneurs needed help navigating the digital world and required a sound board to manage their multiple projects. Her mission became to create empowering strategies for business owners who were struggling with their online systems and their digital marketing.
These days, she is back living in her hometown in Calgary, Alberta, helping to create, manage and implement the tasks and systems creative businesses need in order to grow. Deeply in tune with digital marketing and the creative, entrepreneurial mindset, specialised in online project management and production, creating and launching digital products and working closely with business owners to develop simple and strategic workflows.

My name is Gabrielle, I’m from Canada. I’m a virtual assistant. So I help companies with their marketing, with their research, with their social media – a bit of everything.
I came to Bali, just wanting to be there for a vacation for 5 weeks, ended up figuring out a way to work online. And then after that I stayed here for a about 1 year and then it turned into Dojo, I went away and came back 7 months later and Dojo had just exploded. And now I’ve been here for about 4 months.
It was really different from when I was there before, when it wasn’t Dojo, and I was really impressed what Michael had done with the place. He really put together something that was community oriented, that was really focused around workshops and learning. For my business… I wasn’t expecting any of this… I thought Dojo is going to be a really simple coworking space. I came here and literally so many things happened to my business, and to what I wanted to do with it, just through meeting people. Which was really really cool.
I have built business relationships, friendships and sometimes they tend to mix together which is interesting. In a normal day, I talk to a bunch of different people and I’ll talk to a fashion designer, a blogger, a lawyer, a journalists, people that are coders or do social media, like internationally. You meet this people by just having a chat and it absolutely blows you mind what people do. You don’t expect any of it. And you learn so much, you are so inspired. You come to Dojo and you think it is this place where people just hang out, do nothing, go surfing, which they do, but then they do so much work, people work their buts off. You come here and you want to work, you want to be productive, you want to grow your business. You just want to kickass because you have all these different people around you that are doing that. And you want to be on the same level as them I guess. There is no place for laziness.
The food. I don’t know, you hear a lot. Everybody says the people, the support system. You come to Bali and none of us – or not a lot of us have families here – you come here you are a Digital Nomad or location independent professional, you have to have that sense of community and you build it around the people here. You get a bit of an instant family. You just sign up, you sign a membership and you get a family. That’s really cool in that sense.
Some people leave, some people go. And that’s just part of it, you ust accept that you meet someone and they might only be here for a month. They might come back and that’s always fun. Or other people come – and you build a new community.
Do it! Don’t hesitate even if your business is not in the best spot, you are not sure, you have the set of skills that you can freelance of, in the situation where money is not the best or you are not the most comfortable. Whatever it is in your life, just come to Dojo! There will be a support system, that will help you with your skills, to help you with your knowledge.
Get your money together, get your flight and come! And something magical will happen for sure!
