So you’ve seen the svelte ladies and sinewy males in their shiny yoga gear, floating around glowing and zenned out, sipping on their kombucha and coconuts. If you’ve ever wanted to be a yogi or just try a class to stretch out that stiff hamstrings and lower back from hours in the surf or in digital nomad mode hunched over your mac, you’ll be glad to know you’re in the heart of yoga paradise.
Distinctly a vibe apart from it’s hippie sister, Ubud. Yoga in Canggu attracts far more diversity. Perhaps it’s the roaring coastline of ocean and yang energy of the surfers, cross fitters, MMA-artists and hipsters that abound here, but Canggu’s yoga energy is more grounded. So plenty more “regular” guys show up to class making this is the perfect place especially for guys to finally give yoga a try because it truly is a transformative tool if you can get past the lululemon and airy fairy vibes.

The Practice – Batu Bolong
If Canggu was a yogi, The practice with all its hipster coolness would be it. As stylish and grungy as it looks, it’s known to have a solid and passionate teaching team and offering. The yoga styles are quite specific to owner Octavio and his team’s style and more on the hatha and vinyasa types with highly popular yin classes. Free classes on tuesday afternoons.
Eco-Serenity – Jalan Nelayan
A distinctly styled eco-friendly budget option with a huge range of classes from flying to vinyasa yoga styles. Their cafe offers cheap and cheerful raw and vegetarian food. There is a meditation room open to practitioners of the Vipassana method every tuesday afternoon. This is a great option if you’re not wanting to splash out on your first class and some yogi food. Also literally next to the beach for your post yoga surf session
Desa Seni – Berawa beach
The original yoga center, these guys brought yoga to Canggu. Super chic and yet architecturally unique with traditional java houses transported from parts of the archipelago, Desa Seni is always a crowd pleaser to impress your visiting friends.
